Below is an email sent to parents and athletes for whom I have contact information. Just in case you missed it, here it is again.

Hello Parents and Athletes!

Many of you have heard that I have decided to host a homestay camp for the girls. This was a decision made after the original plans for camp fell through. While the decision to do camp has been made for a while, time has snuck up on me! I apologize for what to me feels like a very last minute announcement.

Camp is available to any Spring Valley Student who has turned in a physical, health forms, a copy of their birth certificate and an athlete’s emergency information form. The total cost of the camp will be $150.00. This will include all of the activities shown below with the exception of our Friday celebration dinner. Athletes are being asked to donate 1 case of water, juice or sports drink to share as well as an international themed potluck dish for our Monday dinner. Many of our athletes are willing and able to drive additional teammates during the week to each location. If you are comfortable with your student riding with a fellow student that is wonderful. If not, don’t fret! I have spoken with a couple of parents who are willing to help me the week of camp and act as team taxis, I will also be available to drive students.

There are a few jobs or things that I would love to use parents for the week of camp, if you are willing or able to help please let me know! Some examples include; helping prepare/clean up meals, keeping an eye on groups during water activities, or drive students during our team Road Rally from about 3:30-6:30 on Monday.

A limited number of scholarships are available as needed. Please contact Coach Lindman if you would like to apply for a scholarship. If you will not be attending camp but still intend to compete this season we will continue summer practices at 8a M-F until July 18 then twice more after camp (Aug 4 & 5) then will begin official mandatory practice at 4:15p Monday Aug 8.

Below you will find our basic itinerary for the week of camp, July 18-July 22. Monday night the girls will camp in the backyard of one of our team members, every other night we will end about 8p and the girls will return home.
